Background

CyberData Industries is a cybernetics and technological firm funded by the House of Nowo, from Opia. Starting as a small-time Droid manufacturer, primarily supplying maintenance and small-scale Astromech droids, their fortunes changed with the House of Nowo invested in their product lines, making them expand into the burgeoning Combat-use droids market. From there, CyberData, soon renamed Nowo CyberData due to the increased funding, control and eventual ownership the House of Nowo took over the company, became a primary droid manufacturing corporation. Their biggest advantage was developing new Droid technology, then getting a patent for them, before selling it to other droid and automation corporations.
Due to this, despite not having the largest droid market share, NCDI gets quite a bit of revenue on droid sales across the Galaxy. Their biggest profit comes from the B-Series Battle Droid lines they developed, however. Many systems supplement their military forces with those.. as do a few gangsters, which has been a bit of a stain on NCDI's reputation, but due to increased profit, and a tightening control from the current owner, Ino-Chi Nowo, NCDI's stock has still been on the rise. The recent expansion into all spheres of technology, from xenobiology to astrogation technology development has turned NCDI from a droid-maker to a competitive Research and Development STEM company.

Products

Nowo CyberData Industries has a wide variety of products, but their main products, what they're known for are droids. From the mundane convenience droid almost every household has, to the now ubiquitous Battle Droids that most systems have a number of to supplement their armed forces, CyberData industries was probably involved at one of the conception or distribution levels. While obviously not every droid comes from NCDI, many of the patents in currently available droid technology belongs to them, and they have residuals from most droids distributed in the Galaxy.
Their main products in the last few years have been the Battle Droid models, but they also own the production facilities for F4 Astromech Models, and most security droids, both Galactic and Imperial. The Cold War has been very profitable for them. They also sell several convenience droids, such as maintenance, domestic, and certain less popular models of Protocol Droids.
The new Lord of House Nowo however, has been aggressively pushing for more technological advancements. Purchasing off-planet locations, factories and means of production from various systems, CyberData has slowly been increasing its product rollout, such as Hyperdrive manufacturing, Navcomputer systems, and even tentative steps into Starfighter production. This has not cut into their profits (patent holding means they won't run out of funds for some time), but they have yet to be adopted by most systems. However, it may only be a matter of time until several system-specific or even Republic ships are using CyberData technologies.
