Welcome to the Space Era Super Robot Wars World. Placeholder.

Setting

It is two hundred years after the beginning of the "Space Era", a time period when civilization began expanding into space. However, by the start of the 21st century, two meteors struck and destroyed much of the Earth, sending humanity into chaos. By year 179 of the Space Era, secret technology, dubbed Extra-Over Technology, or EOT, was discovered by the Earth Federal Government within a third meteor that had hit Earth at the Marquesas Islands in the South Pacific. Dr. Bian Zoldark, while investigating the meteor, also found out that the creators of the Extra-Over Technology were heading to Earth to reclaim it. In order to defend earth, the government starts to develop a group of humanoid mecha, known as Personal Troopers.

The alien race that created Extra-Over Technology, called the Aerogaters by the Earth Federal Government, initially attacks an Earth ship sent out to investigate their presence in the far reaches of the solar system. This initial skirmish ends in a defeat for the Aerogaters, prompting them to sue for negotiations with the Earth Federation Army. Talks are arranged to take place at a secret facility in Antarctica, but the talks are targeted by a rogue faction called the Divine Crusaders.

The Divine Crusaders destroys the Aerogater delegation, then turn on the Federation forces. Bian Zoldark, revealing himself to be the leader of the Divine Crusaders, announces the existence of the Aerogaters to the world and rebel against the Earth Government. As Earth spins into civil war, a new Aerogater force is on the move, seeking to reclaim their lost technology...

Crywolves

The Cry Wolves is a group of mercenary fighters, usually employed by members of the Terra Federation Army. Its known members are Albero Est, as its leader, Hugo Medio and Albero's son, Foglia Est. The group operates using customized Gespenst MK II M units. The group encountered the Jetzt, a new species of Einst, and their attacks on the creatures proved futile, until Albero was targeted. Foglia rushed to defend his father and was turned into a zombie soldier, forcing Albero to kill him. In turn, Hugo also received a fatal injury, and the entire squad was obliterated, save Hugo and Albero, but the sudden interference of Axel Almer and Einst Alchemie saved Hugo and Albero.

Divine Crusaders

The Divine Crusaders, also known as DC, were founded by Bian Zoldark. He found proof that aliens are coming to Earth, so created the Divine Crusaders as a means to unify the Earth against the attack, through force. He had support from Dr. Adler Koch, and other notable individuals. They rebelled against the Earth government, which triggered a global civil war.
The Divine Crusaders's main headquarters was at Aiodenus Island, underneath the Extra-Over Technological Investigative Institute, which is also founded by Bian Zoldark. It is where the Terra Federation ended the first Divine Crusader War. Bian Zoldark made his last stand at the headquarters. It officially ended when the Aerogaters arrived on Earth.
Divine Crusaders Remanants were reformed into the Neo-Divine Crusaders by Commander Van Vat Tran after the first DC war. He and the rest of the Neo-Divine Crusaders later allied themselves with the Shadow-Mirror forces.
Bian Zoldark and his supporters created the Armored Modules to be used as a new type of fighting machine to be used as the Divine Crusaders main mobile weapons. These were based on fighter jets, but with humanoid appearances so it would be a cheap, and effective mobile weapon. These mobile weapons are equipped with the Tesla Drive, created by the Tesla Leicht Institute, which allowed sustained flight. All Armored Modules are designated with the model number DCAM, which stands for Divine Crusaders Armored Module.

Aerogaters

The Aerogaters was the codename given by the Earth Federation, referring to the alien invaders. The Aerogaters were the seventh fleet of the Ze Balmary Imperial Galactic Frontier Inspection Army, sent to the Earth in order to gather information on the Earth and its inhabitants, before the main invasion of the Balmar Empire.

Zuvorg Alliance

The Zuvorg Alliance is a huge galactic conglomerate of worlds acting as supervisors to the galaxy, seeing which planet turns out to be a threat to the universe and eliminate them. Among them are the "Inspectors" (Wendolo, Mekibos, Vigagi, Sikalog and Aguija) and the "Guests", led by Teniquette Zezenan. Unfortunately, while most of them are sane, extremists like Wendolo and Teniquette turn out to be far worse, irredeemable enemies of mankind.
The nature of the Zuvorg Alliance was expanded: largely an aristocracy, many members are part of clans/houses in the Alliance. The Zuvorg Council, meanwhile, is split into two distinct factions: the "Volga", who governs the Inspectors, and the "Zogar", whom the Guests belong to.

Inspectors

The Inspectors were composed of 5 individuals: Mekibos, Vigagi, Sikalog, Aguija and Wendolo, all who answer towards the Zuvorg Council. Their mission was to inspect civilizations, judging if they were becoming too expansive in the galaxy and would eventually posing a threat to the Zuvorg Alliance. In that case, the Inspector were to use brute force in order to stop their expansion. Their failure is a flare for the Guests to intervene to pretty much wipe that civilization.

Duminuss

Duminuss makes its appearance in the Shadow-Mirror universe and heads an attack on the Gureden siblings, unknowingly damaging Fiona's Excellence and its Time Flow Engine. The next time it appears, Duminuss destroys Wilhelm von Juergen and commandeers the "ODE System" for its use. In this setting, Duminuss has acquired the "Emi Armor" and G-Thundergate, forming an uneasy alliance with the "Shura". As help for revealing the inner workings of the "Swordian Fortress", Duminuss demands they kidnap Shouko Azuma, Brainwashing her to become Dark Emi via the Emi Armor and use the G-Thundergate to antagonize "Fighter Roar", Kouta's Henshin Hero alter ego. All this is so Duminuss can gather parts of the "Twelve Keys" to summon its master Dark Brain into this dimension.
Unfortunately, due to multiple circumstances, the Emi Armor and G-Thundergate are seized by Kouta and his allies from the Earth Federation Army, forcing Duminuss to call its master. However, Dark Brain deems Duminuss a failure for having lost the Emi Armor and G-Thundergate to his Arch-Nemesis and destroys Duminuss after successfully summoning it.

Shura

A intergalatic race of humanoids who long for combat, the Shura are the main antagonists of Compact 3. While skilled in different martial art styles and techniques, the Shura exemplify their power using "Shura Gods" (Shura Shin), Humongous Mecha that drain their lifespan in compensation of untold, immense power. Hailing from an unknown, dying world, the Shura travel through dimensions and find a place to settle and conquer, spreading their culture of conflict. Their greatest champions are the Shura Generals, each with a unique fighting style tailored to their Shura God.
There are four classes of Shura Gods: Retsu (Blaze), Gou (Strength), Chou (Super) and Ten (Heaven). Of the four, the Blaze-class is the most numerous and least powerful, being reproduced based on the limited number of Super-class Shura Gods that have become Lost Technology to the Shura (thus they have limited abilities, notably the lack of Regenerating Health). Unlike the Blaze-class, which can be piloted as long as you have enough "haki", Strength-class Shura Gods and higher requires a powerful, exceptional fighter, and being a candidate to even pilot one requires many trials and rituals. Not only must one have the required strength, Strength-, Super- and Heaven-class Shura Gods are semi-sentient and chooses their own pilots. There exist many Super-class Shura Gods that are still slumbering, awaiting their true master.
Strength- and Super-class Shura Gods that have gone through a "deification" process will gain a change in physical appearance (usually related to its user's fighting style and haki) and power. Few of the most powerful warriors can accomplish this. However, this process is considered life-threatening, as it requires the user to freely allow the Shura God to take nearly all of their haki. If there's not enough, the user could die, or the Shura God may only become deified temporarily. Finally, the Heaven-class Shura Gods are unrivalled in power, exceeding the capabilities of the previous classes and used by a select handful of the strongest Shura warriors. Only two known Heaven-class Shura Gods exists, and one continues to sleep in the Shura's Tenkuu Majou.

The Ruina

This interdimensional race feeds on negative emotions: when they gather enough power, they can use it to annihilate a universe, and if they are around a Crapsack World...well, one can guess what happens. Led by Perfectio, they're brought to the universe by Felio, who accidentally opened the gate to their world and they end up possessing him and his co-workers. With the exception of Felio (whom Perfectio possesses), the Ruina are born from Felio's knowledge and memories. The Ruina Generals, or "Melior Esse", are created by Perfectio from human hosts assisting him.

The Fury

The Fury claim they are the ones who seeded life on Earth, but retreated from the world and resided on the moon, watching over their creations. The Fury also claim they were previously, eons ago, defeated by another space-faring force, fleeing from them to the far ends of the universe. They are led by "Representative Knight" Gu-Landon Goetz and his "High Knights" Al-Van Lunks, Fu-Lu Mu-Lu, and Jua-Mu Dalby.

Garden of Baral

These people are behind the Youkijin ("Evil Mechanical Gods") for the Space Era World. Their stated goal is the ascension of the human race into immortals, free from pain and suffering, but not all humans are compatible with the ritual, thus millions will die in the process. Needless to say, their methodology can be a little extreme. Stationed in the Garden of Baral, located somewhere in the Middle East, the faction controls the last two "God-class" Choukijin JakuOhKi and BuOhKi, as well as the last two survivors of the "Evil-class" and all members of the "Spirit-class" (although only one is seen). Aside from Kanan and Taihou, Kukuru is a member of this group, as well as Son Ganlong.

Technology

Extra Over Technology

Also called EOT, Extra-Over Technology refers to any Earth technology that uses extraterrestrial material from Meteor-3 in the Original Generation timeline. Meteor-3 refers to the third meteor that struck Earth during the Space Era. Unlike the other two meteors, Meteor-3 did not crash into the planet with the amount of force one would expect an object of its mass to have. Moreover, samples of advanced technology were discovered in the meteorite.

In actuality, Meteor-3 is Septuagint, a machine sent by the Balmarians to allow the inhabitants of the planet to advance their technological level. However, should the race prove too strong to be assimilated, Septuagint will activate itself and commence planet-wide destruction of the species, in order to prevent it from becoming a threat to the Ze Balmary Empire.

Aegis System

Originally designed by the Divine Crusaders as an extensive defense network to ward off extreme alien attacks, the Aegis Plan involves the creation of a satellite network that deploys an energy barrier. This network and the various facilities that allow it to operate are collectively known as the Aegis System. Receiving energy from Moon-based microwave transmitters, the satellites project a barrier between each other, creating a bowl-shaped shield covering half of the Earth. In Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden, the Aegis System was used to block a massive gravitational shockwave created by the apparent destruction of the Excelion from Gunbuster. The majority of the power needed for the shield was supplied by Londo Bell's a complement of super robots. In Super Robot Wars Original Generation: The Animation, a prototype Aegis System is used to defend the Hellgate Facility.

In Super Robot Wars Original Generation 2, the Aegis Plan refers to the development and mass-production of new Personal Troopers for the Earth Federation Army, rather than the term used in Alpha Gaiden. In the same game, Viletta Vadim briefly mentions the development of the Aegis System, during a dialogue between her and Aya Kobayashi. Mitsuko Isurugi, head of Isurugi Industries, also mentions sponsoring the Aegis Project, at the height of Operation Mole Hunt, further fueling a possible implementation of the Aegis System in future Original Generation games.

Cytron

Cytron is a form of elementary particles that is the basis for all Fury-based technology. The use of Cytron allows the exchange of information between a pilot and the machine they are utilizing. This is known as Cytron Control, and the best use of it is through the Cytron Control System, installed in various Fury mobile weapons.

Orgone

Orgone is an energy source used by the lunar Fury to not only power their mobile units, weapons and ships, but also to repair them. Orgone can take solid form as a type of green crystal, which advanced Fury machines such as the Laftclanz make extensive use of.

Tronium

Tronium is the name of the substance that was found inside Meteor-3. Studies show it is highly unstable, ten times more radioactive than uranium and able to produce phenomenal amounts of energy. Dialogue from Super Robot Wars Alpha claim that Tronium is very rare, since its source, planet Tron, was destroyed by the Zentradi long ago.

Machine Cells

The Machine Cells are nanobots destined to enhance the physical and psychological state of a pilot and grants regenerating abilities to the mech that gets involved with the same process.

Machinery Children

The Machinery Children are a series of Machine Cell-injected clones created by Egret Feff. Their genetic make-up is created from data gathered through the young men and women who were graduates of The School. Three clones were created: Uruz, Ansuz, and Thurisuz, all having extreme combat capabilities and bear a strong physical resemblance to Arado Balanga, as his DNA was revealed the main source for their bodies.

Armored Modules

Armored Modules are units created and designed for the use of the Divine Crusaders. Armored Modules, most of which are real robots, were originally derived from fighter jets, but given humanoid appearances when the idea to create cheap, effective mobile weapons for mass-production purposes was needed. All Armored Modules are designated with the model number AM.

One example of an Armored Module is the Lion unit. According to Super Robot Wars OG: Original Generations terminology reference, Armored Modules use the operating system LIEON (Learning-automation Integrated EO-technology and cONventional maneuvering). While not as effective at performing complex movements as the Personal Troopers' TC-OS, the LIEON allows the most inexperienced of pilots to easily control Armored Modules. However, later Armored Modules, like the Fairlion, would replace the LIEON with the TC-OS.

Chokijin

The Chōkijin (超機人 literally Super Machine-Man) are a group of mechanical lifeforms created by Earth's planetary defense system, the Nashim Ganeden, and considered as gods by ancient civilizations. They were created to fight the Hundred Evils (百邪 Hyakuja), dark forces that include other mechanical beings that revolted against the will of Baral, the Yōkijin.

Originally, there were twelve of them, divided into three classes: the Four Calamitiy, the Four Punishment, and the Four Spirits. A group of people developed four more Chōkijin, to represent the fourth class, the Four Gods, which were also blessed with power from the Ganeden. Each Chōkijin in this class represents one of the four mythical beasts: Genbu, Suzaku, Byakko and Seiryū. According to the dialogue in Super Robot Wars Alpha 3, the original Chōkijin were destroyed in a battle against evil in an ancient era, with the exception of the Shin RyuOhki of the Four Spirits. After the Four Gods were used by humans to destroy each other, only the KoOhKi and RyuOhKi of the Four Gods class survived.

Personal Troopers

When the Earth government saw the need to build new military weapons, after Bian Zoldark's warning of alien invaders, the concept of Personal Troopers, or PTs was created. Built to resemble a humanoid fighting machine, Personal Troopers, all real robots, would represent the majority of the Earth Federation Army. Experimental Personal Troopers are designated with the model number PTX while mass-production models are designated as RPT.

One example of a Personal Trooper is the Gespenst unit. According to the Super Robot Wars OG: Original Generations terminology reference, Personal Troopers use the operating system TC-OS (Tactical Cybernetics Operating System), which mimics a human's complex movements by using pattern data.

Real Troopers

When the Earth government saw the need to build new military weapons, after Bian Zoldark's warning of alien invaders, the concept of Real Troopers was created. Built to resemble a humanoid fighting machine, Real Troopers, all real robots, would represent a small portion of the Earth Federation Army. Unlike Personal Troopers, Real Troopers would utilize Extra-Over Technology extensively. All Real Troopers are designated with the model number RTX.

Main example of Real Troopers are the Huckebein units.
