The Space Police Kaisers (宇宙警察カイザーズ Uchū Keisatsu Kaizāzu) are the protagonist faction of The Brave Fighter Exkizer television series. They are mechanical energy beings from the planet Kaiser Star, and as all of them has a strong sense of courage and justice, they became the policemen of space. It seems that Exkizer's team alone doesn't form the entire force, as other Kaisers have visited Earth before and left behind several powerful artifacts for the next generation of Kaisers' use (which includes a Kizer Sword and an Energy Lifeform Capturing Device). It seems that they can switch between 2 vehicle modes through shapeshifting - an exotic, mecha-like mode which is for transformation/combat situations (which is also how their toys' vehicle mode looks like), and another mode which acts like a camouflage, making the vehicles look exactly the same as their Earth vehicle counterparts.

The Brave Series (勇者シリーズ Yūsha shirīzu) toy and animation franchise began after the toy company Takara ended the animated "Generation One" storyline of Transformers in Japan. Following a decline in the series' popularity that led to the cancellation of the OVA series Transformers: Zone, Takara struck a cooperative deal with the animation studio Sunrise (known for its mecha series, most notably Gundam) to develop a new franchise and set of toy lines, which became the Brave series. This franchise would help reintroduce the Super Robot genre to the Japanese mainstream in the 1990s.

History

In 2001, a band of energy-based intergalactic space pirates, the Space Pirate Geisters, make their way to Earth and dwell in giant robotic dinosaur bodies in order to commit crimes and steal what they deem "treasure." However, they are chased after by Exkizer, along with his team, who are members of the peacekeeping Space Police Kaisers. The Kaisers take form and dwell within Earth-based vehicles, with Exkizer taking over the family car of a young third-grade boy called Kouta Hoshikawa.

In 2010, an evil Minus-Energy Lifeform called Draias has made his way to Earth, and allies himself with an evil scientist known as Dr Jango to create chaos and ruin the planet. A unit dispatched from the peacekeeping Space Police Force follows him to Earth, and their leader Fighbird inhabits the body of an advanced android built by Dr.Hiroshi Amano, becoming Yuutarou Katori. Katori and his team, inhabiting various Earth vehicles and accompanied by Dr. Amano's grandchildren Kenta and Haruka, fight against Draias's forces while adapting to life on Earth.

Sixth-grader Seiji Takasugi obtains a jewel called "Aurin" from a temple along with a "Brave Stone" when a mysterious alien robot attacks his town. When used in conjunction with each other, the Aurin awakens the Brave Warrior Da-Garn who was sleeping within the stone and he does battle with the robot, destroying it. Seiji has been chosen by the Earth itself as the commander of the Brave Warriors, ten robots who serve as defenders of the Earth. The Brave Warriors are sleeping in many parts of the world as "Brave Stones, which become super robots by fusing with modern machines once Seiji awakens them. Seiji must locate and awaken all of them while fighting off alien invaders and keeping everything a secret from his family and friends. They fight against Lord OhBoss and his minions, invaders who aim to steal the planet's energy and use it for evil means.

Maito Senpūji is a billionaire crime-fighting teenager, taking up his father's company and assets at the age of only 15. Taking control of the Might Gaine team of robots that his late father created, Senpūji and his free-thinking robot teams take on the crime lords that plague Neo Tokyo City.

While the 21st century has seen great advances in technology, there has also been a rise in criminals using robots and incidents involving biomonsters, as well as other previously unheard-of disasters. To better deal with these threats, the police department decided to embark on the Brave Police project-building high tech robot detectives to counter these threats. One day, a fourth grader called Yuuta Tomonaga stumbles upon the police's new project, a sentient police robot called Deckerd. Soon after he visits Deckerd several times and teaches him various things about life, Deckerd's AI becomes self-aware and he begins to develop a "heart". But the day comes when he is to be sent into action, and the police prepare to wipe his memory, which includes his friendship with Yuuta. Yuuta tries to stop the wipe but is unsuccessful. A criminal piloting a large robot attacks the police parade transporting Deckerd in order to steal him. Deckerd is dormant inside a truck but hears Yuuta's voice and reactivates, saving the city and defeating the robot. The police decide to hire Yuuta as the boss of the new "Brave Police" division, an elite force of robot detectives, of which Deckerd is the first. More robot detectives join the force as time passes, and they and Yuuta face off against a variety of foes.

A trio of boys, Takuya, Kazuki, and Dai, find a mysterious jewel called a "Power Stone". They awaken Dran, a robot warrior from the planet Legendra, but are attacked by Prince Walter Walzac, who wants the Power Stones and control of the Braves inside for himself. A battle ensues, and then the boys join Dran as they search for the Stones containing the seven other sleeping Braves before Walter can get ahold of them. In the second half of the series, they search for the way to the mysterious planet of Legendra.

Floating in space many light years from Earth is a penal colony that holds some of the worst criminals in this part of the galaxy. These criminals were captured by the Dagwon Interstellar Police Force (a Green Lantern style agency) and jailed. However, the inmates took over the jail and began to strike back at their captors by attacking the nearest planet: Earth. After the first attack, 5 high school students - En Daidouji, Kai Hirose, Shin Sawamura, Yoku Kazamatsuri and Ryuu Hashiba - are given the power to use their wrist morphers called the Dag-Commander and summon powerful battle armor known as the Dagtector. They are later joined by 3rd-year high-schooler Geki Kuroiwa and young Jinrai planet native Rai Utsumi as the 6th and 7th Dagwon members respectively. In time of crisis they can mentally and physically become one with their respective vehicles and assume a more powerful robot mode. When necessary several of the human/robot hybrids can gattai (or combine) into larger robots with powerful attacks. These 'Brave High School Warriors' now attempt to juggle school, love, and saving the planet on a daily basis.

Here, evil forces want to conquer the game's alternate Brave multiverse. Astral (the leader of the Brave Saints) and Grandark (the leader of Brave Saga's villains) are the holy and unholy souls of this universe whose consciousnesses are bound to its very forces, so both will die if great harm is brought to one of them. Astral sends her Brave Saints, digital spirits, to Earth to possess toy robot fighters and stop the forces of evil, one of whom, known as Burn, befriends 5th grader Shunpei Serizawa because Shunpei possesses what is believed to be a "holy heart".

Factions

There are many groups operating in this world, though most of them do not operate at the same point in the timeline, all of them coexist in this world.

Protectors

Space Police Kaisers

Exkizer's team came to Earth and battled the Space Pirate Geisters during 2001-2002.

Space Police Force

The Space Police Force (宇宙警備隊 - Uchuu Keibitai) are composed of aliens who are committed to combatting evil in the universe. The team on Earth is led by Fighbird, known by his human name as Katori Yuutarou. Their main nemesis is Draias.

Antagonists

Space Pirate Geisters

The Space Pirate Geister (宇宙海賊ガイスターズ) are the main antagonist force of The Brave Fighter Exkizer TV series. Similar to the Space Police Kaisers, the Geisters are also energy lifeforms, but are evil in nature. During the show, the Geisters came to Earth in order to steal it's "treasures" and sell them to a space black market merchant known as Trader, with the Kaisers giving chase to them. Since then, both sides clash on a daily basis, with the Geisters always being the ones to retreat. Their discovery of the Energy Lifeform Capture Device still did not managed to change the tables for them, as with the help of a human friend, the Kaisers retook the Device, defeated and soundly captured the Geisters, save for their leader, Dino Geist, who committed suicide by plunging himself into the Sun in order to evade capture.
