Hellfire Academy

The Hellfire Academy was set up by the Hellfire Club as a rival school to the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

Information

The Hellfire Academy was founded by Sebastian Shaw, the Black King of the Hellfire Club. Shaw recruited villainous mutant outlaws to act as faculty, and began scouring the country (and possible the world) enrolling newly manifesting mutants to attend this school. This academy serves as a direct opponent to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning's X-Men.
One purpose of the Academy was to form great mutant villains, in order to boost the sales of his Sentinels.

Shaw and his staff recruited both in the new mutants pool and in the Xavier School ranks. They recruited the new-comers Infestation, Mudbug and Snot.
