Diabola Relic

Diabola Relics are a new creation of Wilhelm, designed in light of the appearance of Xenogears and his control of the Zohar Reactor.

Creation

Much like the Anima Relics are supposed to merge with their Animus, and then allow that person to channel the power of the Wave Existence through the Zohar Reactor, the Diabola Relics are Wilhelm's version of this. Realizing several of his people had lost out in light of the power of Spiral and Getter, as well as the instant shutdown of all Gears when the Zohar Reactor was taken, he made his own variation of the Anima Relics.
By all accounts, the Diabola Relics should not work. The original Anima Relics were a long-researched product of several years' labour and served a very specific purpose, to provide infinite power sources, and their creation was nothing short of a miracle. Wilhelm is aware of this and has given no details as to how the Diabola Relics were created, but simply that they work.

Purpose

Diabola Relics allow those who are in contact with them to channel the power of Wilhelm directly. With his connection to the Zohar now fully realized, this power allows for a massive performance upgrade on any machine gifted with a Diabola Relic, and any creature who counts as a Diabolus, one of Wilhelm's Chosen. Originally designed for Testament Use, the sudden departure and loss of at least three of them made Wilhelm more willing to give them to his new creations, Lordgenome's Four Sky Kings, because their inability to generate Spiral Energy was a detriment to their power, and made them less likely to turn when genetically programmed to serve Wilhelm over Lordgenome.
Diabolus can expect a massive output upgrade from their machines, including the ability to enter the so-called 'Hyper Mode', which is the Diabola Relic allowing 100% access to the power of Wilhelm, allowing for a massive power spike for a brief amount of time. The Four Sky Kings, which were created with in-born Diabola Relics, are able to substitute the power of Wilhelm for Spiral Energy, allowing them full access to their machines, which can also activate the so-called 'Hyper Mode'.

The Diabola Relics (8 in all) have now all been assigned to the Testaments' machines and the Four Sky Kings.
