The Amaterasu Kingdom Demesnes is the governing body of the entirety of Delta Belune. It is the only planet with a united population. For this reason, Delta Belune alone in the galaxy has known relative peace and tranquility since its consolidation in JC 2878.

The AKD’s total hegemony over Delta Belune is rivaled only by the Fillmore Empire's influence over Kalamity Godarce (though the AKD can only muster about 1/3rd of Fillmore's military might). However, the AKD's real power and influence comes from the Divers Guild; a guild of seers, time-travelers and sorcerers who are rumored to control the galaxy from the shadows.

The AKD has many member nations. The foremost is the emperor's nation of birth, the Kingdom of Grees. The next most influential nation is that of its military commander (Rognar) the Kingdom of Babiron. Other important kingdoms, dukedoms and nations include: Lumors in the territory of Melkor, Ciut (member of Babiron) Stakker in the territory of Crytharis, Cross in the Codante family demesne, Passport, Passtok, the Dukedom of Atowight and Mu-Suluticca. The AKD's population is a diverse lot made up of many races, ethnic groups and cultures.

The AKD underwent quite a change in JC 3998. By this time the FEMC had disappeared from public view and were no longer present on Float Temple. Amaterasu IV became a harsh ruler and the Gods Knights changed in several ways. The emblem of the Gods Knights changed and they began using the Kan as their primary mortar headd. Some began suspecting that the emperor had undergone a change...

The original home of Swordsaint Deimos Hierarchy, the Bakinnrakkan Holy Empire is the largest political entity on Addler. Its ruler, Emperor Mimatu, is one of the few individuals capable of bestowing the title of "Teni" upon a knight. After Deimos defected to the AKD to help Amaterasu build the Mirage Knights, Oricon Harris became Bagen Rakkan's most able knight. Harris gained the rank of Greater Heaven Position.

The Fillmore Empire is the largest political entity in the Joker Star Cluster. It boasts the Cluster’s largest military force, even exceeding that of the AKD. Much like Hathuha, the population of Fillmore are descendants of the Farus di Kanon (aka Super Empire) of the AD era, which is where much of their power and influence originated.

There are two royal lines that rule the Fillmore Empire. The first is the Lader family and the second is the primary line, the Fillmore family. The current emperor of Fillmore, Erniuth dai gu Fillmore is himself descended from knights of pure blood. The Fillmore Empire has two Flag mortar headds each one belonging to one of the royal families. The Neptune, which belongs to the Lader branch of the imperial family, is currently being piloted by Christine V, who is former emperor Lader VIII's choice as "Highlander" or Imperial Champion. The mortar headd of the Fillmore family, the Prominence is piloted by emperor Fillmore V himself.

The Hathuha Union Republic is a nation consisting of a dozen political entities which joined forces to form the Republic. Its formation began with a treaty of alliance signed between the Gerre Dynasty's Hathuha Empire and the Hathuhunt Empire ruled by the Collet royal family, resulting in the Allied Republic of Minougciaa. In JC 2810 the present form was adopted based on a parliamentary alliance.

The true guardian of the Hathuha people, however, is the Shaman of Atoll. The Shaman chooses her successor without regard to nationality, birth or family background, the only requirement being a high level of diver power. The chosen successor inherits the living memory of the Atoll dynasty dating back to its founder, The Empress of Flame herself. The present "Empress" happens to be the granddaughter of King Collet, Megumika Atoll (born Megumika Rao Collet). In JC 3070 the daughter of Jabo Beat and Douglas Kaien, Magdall Atoll, is chosen to be Shaman of Atoll after the death of Megumika.

The major nations of Atoll include; Gerre Hathuha, Hathuhunt Empire, Allied Republics of Yen-Xing, Nakakara-Crr, Seazoth as well as the Principality of Katze. The population of Hathuha are the descendants of the Farus di Kanon (aka Super Empire) which is why they inherit the memory of the Empress of Flame and are allowed the name Holy Atoll Dynasty.

The Holy Cobalkan Empire (sometimes spelled Kuvulcan) is the second largest political entity on Kalamity Godarce. About the size of the Ukraine, Cobalkan occupies half of the Schorty continent in the northern hemisphere. The Vatican, which governs Cobalkan, is controlled by clergymen of high moral standards, who have undergone strict, extensive training to follow their chosen path.

The Lown Knights are considered one of the galaxy's three great orders of Knighthood (which includes Hathuha’s A’p Knights and Fillmore’s Kneu Syltiss Knights) and a chosen few of the Lown Knights pilot the S.S.I. Kuvulcan or Bang Doll. One of the most powerful MH's in the galaxy, the Bang Doll is famous for its beauty as well as its battle prowess. It is one of the rarest MH's in the galaxy and only 5 to 7 models will be in service at any given time.

The current ruler of Cobalkan, Pope Spanda, is grooming top Lown Knight Muse Van Reyback as his successor. Reyback has been entrusted with a Bang Doll (with Ballanche fatima Ssizz) and has been sent on a tour of the galaxy to expose himself to the various cultures of the Joker Star Cluster.

The Trio de Colus is the largest political entity on the planet of Jüno, ruling the three territories of the Colus, Ballanka and Meistner royal families. Each family holds a territory divided into from 7 to 10 provinces. The capital city, Jarth, is located in almost the geographic center of the empire.

The royal heir always comes from the Colus line of royal families. It has been considered a miracle that the Colus heir has been for over 28 generations a headdliner. If there is no Colus heir then a suitable heir from Ballanka or Meistner will be chosen to succeed to the throne and he will then take the name of Colus to keep the line going. There was at one time a 4th royal family, the Melody family, however this family was disbanded due to a scandal which involved the Shaman of Atoll and the head of the Melody family. It is unfortunate that this royal line was disbanded as the strongest of the Colus heirs came from this specific line.

The original Colus flag MH, the Engage Octaver, is currently missing, in the hands of Arr Fortissimo Melody (the last child of the Melody family to be born). It was replaced by Colus XXIII when he designed the Symbol of Colus, Junchoon, but when the Junchoon was sealed with Clotho the Trio Temple Knights commissioned a new MH from MH Meight extraordinaire Diamond Neutral. He built for Colus a new mortar headd based on the Engage Octaver but with much updated technology. The new Colus flag MH is called the Engage SR3 (the Junchoon is considered the SR2) and Colus meights designed the external armor to resemble the Junchoon since the MH would be piloted by Colus XXIII's daughter, Saylay. Sometimes it is referred to as the "Saylay Junchoon" and also called the "Jade Temple" because it was designed by Dr. Neutral (creator of the Temple series of mortar headds).

The Trun Federal Republic (or Trun Union as it is more commonly known) is composed of various nations which include the Lent Republic (the setting for FSS book 1). Trun has no official palace guard but they do have a special order of knights dedicated to keeping peace known as the Special Police Injection (SPI) which perform duties similar to those of other knight orders, though they tend to have more individual freedom than members of other orders of knights.

Fatimas

In the battles that rage across the worlds of the Joker Star Cluster few weapons are as crucial as the fatima. Although they appear human at first glance, fatimas are humanoid creatures genetically engineered for a life of service on the battlefield. Fatimas are necessary copilots for mortar headds and mentally merge with the computer systems of these devastating machines to control weapons, communications and other vital processes. The mental merging is so complete that shock or strain experienced by the mortar headd during combat can be damaging to a fatima. Some fatimas have died after extended or particularly brutal battles. Fatimas are designed to have computational skills rivaling any computer.

Fatimas are thinner than humans with longer limbs and necks. Their chest cavities are smaller resulting in protruding joints. Although they appear to be frail they are markedly stronger and more resilient than normal humans. They are able to move as fast as most headdliners and can be deadly in personal combat. Most fatimas seen in the Five Star Stories are women but male fatimas are also produced as are child types that never reach physical maturity. Fatimas are not capable of producing children, perspire less than humans and require less food.

It is virtually unheard of for a fatima not to be paired with a headdliner. They call their partner "master" and serve with devotion until their master’s death. It is said the best partnerships result when the headdliner and fatima are of opposite sexes. Although some powerful headdliners have more than one fatima, fatimas serve only one master. Upon the master’s death, fatimas seek out a new partner. Fatimas pledge loyalty to their master and not to a nation or leader. A fatima’s new master can be of any allegiance.

Those with the skills required to create fatimas are called fatima meights. They rank from one to five based on skill with five being the highest. Talented fatima meights are eagerly sought after by national leaders in order to give their own headdliners the opportunity to partner with the best fatimas. Most fatimas are produced in factories or workshops supervised by fatimas meights. They are expensive to produce and roughly half of them have to be destroyed due to defects that show after manufacture or during training. Those created by skilled meights are called masterpiece fatimas. These are created one at a time in a process that more closely resembles an artisan’s workshop than a factory. Skilled meights are also artists who express their talents through the appearance and capabilities of the masterpiece fatimas they create. Four fatima meights who have been recorded in the pages of history for their superior skill are Drs. Chrome Ballanche, Morard Carbyte, Prisen Corks and Steel Koop.

Fatimas go through eight stages of development before they are ready to enter military service. A ranking system has been devised to rate fatima quality. Fatimas begin life in a liquid vat and usually remain there after the stage of development where humans are born. Training is conducted by computers while in the vat to ensure they are well-versed in engineering, physics and biology. After emerging, fatimas receive further training and have a memory crystal surgically implanted in their head. This crystal is used for merging with mortar headd computer systems. They then remain in their creator’s house for 2 to 3 months before choosing a master (this is not the case with factory produced fatimas).

By galaxy law, fatimas must be subjected to strict mind control during their development. This mind control subdues their emotions and enforces several conditions:

• Only a headdliner may be chosen as master
• They may not harm humans unless ordered to by their master
• They obey only the orders of their master
• They must respect humans as better than themselves
• A new master must be found after the current one dies
• They may not attempt to pass themselves off as humans

Galactic law places further limitations on fatimas. They must wear colored contact lenses to obscure their eyes when in public. They may not reveal their flesh (some are concerned they will bewitch men with their beauty). Fatimas have no legal rights and cannot testify in court or enter public offices. When appearing in public they must wear capes that completely cover their bodies and mark them as fatimas (see image below). When fatimas are not accompanied by their masters it is legal to kidnap or kill them. Common citizens’ reactions to fatimas usually range from distrust to outright disgust. When headdliners travel they keep their fatimas in their mortar headd dorreys and other places where they can remain out of sight.

Despite the fact that they are artificial life forms fatimas have personalities and feelings of their own. Many dream of being normal human women and leaving the battlefield behind forever. Perhaps because of their forced exclusion from society they develop deeper relationships when they can with headdliners and other fatimas. Unfortunately, many headdliners share the general view of fatimas as little better than animals and force their partners to endure a life of loneliness.

Etrimls

Etrimls are genetically engineered organisms that serve as organic computers for mortar headds. They can be used instead of fatimas to handle mortar headd systems but they are not as good. Etrimls live in a case of amniotic fluid that is permanently installed in a mortar headd. They cannot reproduce naturally. Although there are exceptions, most etrimls do not have names or personalities and thus are not considered as anything other than equipment. Dr. Chrome Ballanche and other fatima meights have created custom etrimls that are higher quality than typical etrimls. Rondo Hairline is one of Dr. Chrome Ballanche’s creations.

SATANS

In the myth of the Water Dragon in which the origin of the dragons is told, an ancient kingdom is beset upon by a race of demonic creatures. These demonic creatures are known as the SATAN, and they are no myth. The SATAN appears throughout the history of the Joker galaxy, attacking the populace and causing death, destruction and general chaos. Whenever these beings appear, heroes must gather to oppose them lest the galaxy be destroyed by their fervor. During the time of the Super Empire, the super humans known as the Chivalries could mount their powerful Machine Messiah to oppose these infernal beings, but during the modern era of Joker, no headdliner has the strength or stamina to stand up to the likes of the SATAN. Even mortar headds stand little chance against these enigmatic creatures, thus the defense of the galaxy falls to the dragons and those few who stand with them against the dark tide from beyond Joker.

The origins of these demonic beings is unknown. They seem to be interdimensional, having appeared in multiple universes. Their goals are a mystery, though war and strife seem to be the inevitable outcome of their campaigns. Even their hierarchy is relatively unknown, though some leaders have been recognized among them. Who ultimately leads them is a mystery, but these individuals have been identified:

Those five SATAN may be what are known as Overlords. Most likely the leaders of the SATAN, the Overlords are powerful beyond measure – possibly more powerful than even a LED Mirage. Rest assured however, that wherever these malign creatures may appear, the dragons will be there to send them back to Hell.

This is linked to the Pentagona Star Cluster through Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. Trying to make a perfect line up of FSS and L-Gaim is harder than a concrete timeline of the DC Universe with all the reboots, but it's pretty clear Heavy Metals are mass production Mortar Headds. Probably. Hell the L-Gaim MK. II and the Original Aug are probably more of a Mortar Headd than Heavy Metals.
