Earth Federation - United Nations Cosmo Navy

The Cosmo Navy comprises part of the United Nations Cosmo Force along with the United Nations Cosmo Marines. Spaceship combat and transit across space fall within the purview of the UNCN. The Cosmo Navy is led by a Commander-in-Chief (later changed to Supreme Commander); the position was filled by Admiral Juzo Okita in 2199, and by Captain Osamu Yamanami by 2205. Originally the separate nations of the U.N. maintained the space fleets that form the Cosmo Navy; Japan was a major contributor, with warships having been based at a spaceport near Mount Fuji. Following a major reorganization in 2192 all UNCN fleets fell under the Combined Cosmo Fleet, the new main field arm of the Cosmo Navy, which was headed by Fleet Command and its commander. By 2198 the position was held by Admiral Juzo Okita. The Cosmo Navy also operated the Cosmo Navy Land Squadron, the 7th Air Wing , and the 101st Airborne Corps.
After the end of the Great Garmillas War and the dissolution of the United Nations, the Cosmo Navy passed to the jurisdiction of the Earth Federation and began the construction of Wave-motion Gun equipped warships in defience of the Treaty of Amity and Garmillas-Earth Interim Agreement. After the Gatlantis War, the Cosmo Navy's assets were substantially reduced by the new military policy of the Earth. Once the transition process between the UN and the Earth Federation was completed, the organization was renamed to Earth Federation Cosmo Navy. By 2205, the Earth Federation Cosmo Navy operates the Cosmo Navy 70th Base in the vicinity of the Space Defense Academy Headquarters.

Battleships

The Andromeda-class is a United Nations Cosmo Navy Armed Vanguard Spaceship class.[4] Initially designated as Advanced Ability Armament (AAA) ships, the class is named after Andromeda, the lead ship of the class. The class is the immediate follow-up to the space battleship Yamato, further developing wave motion energy and other technologies that were used on its predecessor. The Andromeda class represents the Earth Federation‘s policy of presenting a robust response to alien threats, and leads Earth’s defense against the Gatlantis Empire’s invasion of the solar system.

Dreadnoughts & Kongo-Class

The Dreadnought-class Vanguard Spaceship, formally the Mass-produced High-capacity Armed Operation System D1 Vanguard Spaceship Dreadnought, also called simply the D-class or the Main Battleship, is a battleship class in service of the United Nations Cosmo Navy. Smaller and less heavily armed than the Andromeda class that entered service at nearly the same time but able to be manufactured in greater numbers, the Dreadnought class exemplifies a new and aggressive military doctrine on the part of the Earth Federation.
The Kongo-class Space Battleship, originally the AU Ship Series, is an early space battleship deployed by the the United Nations Cosmo Navy before, during, and after the Garmillas War, with the latter era of ships seeing use of far superior technology in form of turreted shock cannons and a Wave-motion Engine. Until the end of 22nd century, the Kongo's primary role was to act as flagships for UNCN fleets. The Kongo-class was among the largest and most powerful ships available to humanity before the introduction of Wave-motion technology, thanks to the many innovations made, such as the implementation of the experimental 360mm Spinal Mounted shock cannon and, at least in the Kirishima's case, scavenged Migobueza coating during the war. During the Garmillas War, the Kongo-class was one of the few ships that were at least somewhat capable to hold its own against the superior Garmillan vessels. Introduced in 2171, the Kongo would see a long service life of more than 30 years, before becoming obsolete and outclassed by the later more advanced Dreadnought and Andromeda classes, however, despite the existance of these superior models, the Kongo-class saw limited use during the Gatlantis War, after being reclassified as an Escort ship.

Cruisers

The Murasame-class space cruiser is 152 meters in length, with 6 20 centimeter high pressure laser cannons, 4 torpedo ports, and a nose-mounted 20 centimeter positron shock cannon. Like the Isokaze-Class Destroyer, the cruisers are painted in dazzle patterns. The patrol ship is a light armored cruiser equipped with a small wave-motion gun as well as small positron turrets and torpedo launchers, the class is built specifically for patrolling and for carrying out long-term independent missions away from fleet operations, which are made possible thanks in part to the class great speed.

Destroyers & Support Ships

Originally the Isokaze-class space destroyers were armed with 2 prow mounted cannons and 3 forward facing torpedo tubes and 2 triple mount high pressure beam cannons, their weaponry however was rather uneffective against the garmillas forces. In early 2199 the Yukikaze was equipped with special torpedos with experimental double warheads which proved very effective against smaller Garmilan vessels. The C-class is a small United Nations Cosmo Navy ship used for the TAG (Tug Around Galaxy) system by Laboratory Aquarius (AAA-07) in 2200 during the investigation of the Archelias civilisation. The C-class ships are armed with only two triple-barreled positron shock cannon turrets.

Cosmo Navy Fighters & Support Vehicles

The Cosmo Tiger I was a prototype aircraft competing as the next-generation UNCN mainstay fighter, however, its size and great maneuverability made it difficult to be operated as a carrier-based fighter, and it was rejected in favor of the Cosmo Tiger II. The Cosmo Tiger I was built as a biplane to allow it to carry a greater number and variety of armaments. The upper wings are forward-swept while the lower ones are swept-back. Additionally, the fighter has a pair of vertical tails at the rear and a pair of canards at the nose. On the upper wings, 6 sets of three small missile pods (carrying 24 shots each) and 2 beam cannons are equipped; The lower wing has 2 sets of three small missile pods identical to those on the upper wing and 2 large missile pods (carrying 6 shots each). The fighter itself has no fixed armaments, with all of its weapons being mountable and interchangable.
The Type 1 Space Attack Fighter Cosmo Tiger II, also called simply the Cosmo Tiger II, is a trans-atmospheric carrier-based space fighter plane used by the United Nations Cosmo Navy. The Cosmo Tiger II was designed as a successor to the Type-99 Cosmo Falcon, and saw significant action in the Gatlantis War soon after its introduction.
The Type-0 Space Carrier-based Fighter or Cosmo Zero is a superiority space attack fighter used by the Earth Federation Cosmo Navy which can engage space, air and ground targets. It was originally meant to be the main carrier-based fighter of the Cosmo Navy's trump card, the space battleship Yamato, during the Great Garmillas War, but due to delays in its production its role was taken by the UN Ground Force's Cosmo Falcon. The Cosmo Zero continued to serve in the Cosmo Navy after the end of the war although it was never mass produced. Type-0 Model 52 bis Autonomous Unmanned Fighter Blackbird is an unmanned United Nations Cosmo Navy fighter mounted on the Wave Experimental Ship Ginga. It was built in order to preserve human resources in preparation for an all-out war against Gatlantis.
The Type-99 Space Attack Fighter Aircraft, commonly referred to as the Cosmo Falcon or by its Japanese name Hayabusa, is a trans-atmospheric space fighter plane used by forces of the United Nations Cosmo Force and the United Nations Ground Force in the late twenty-second and early twenty-third centuries. The Cosmo Python is a fighter plane with an emphasis on overall attack power. A positron cannon is installed in the center fuselage to be used as a large anti-ship gun, most of the left and right fuselages also serve as weapon bays.
Each part of the aircraft is unitized and movable thanks to the various joints making up the Python's structure. The various parts can slide and trasform into various modes optimized for normal combat, high mobility, and long-distance cruising. The front of the plane is equipped with an escape pod. The Cosmo Python is equipped with multiple cutting-edge technologies, such as an Active Stealth Field Generator to augment its stealth performance, a Higgs Drive Synchronized Surveillance Radar for improved enemy search and an Head Mounted Display for the pilot.

Support & Recon Vehicles

The Ki-8 Prototype Air Boat, better known by its nickname Stork, was a special craft developed by the United Nations Cosmo Force for planetary exploration. The Cosmo Seagull has a large central nacelle and twin booms with intakes and bottom thrusters. The booms are connected by a high tailplane. It has short complex geometry tiltwings which diverge at the half span. The outer section is angled down. Two engine pods are mounted in-between. There are pods at the end of the wings. The tiltwings give it VTOL capability. Stealth features have been given to the wing trailing ends. At the end of the nacelle is an open cargo bay which can mout a variety of mission containers or equipment or machinery like Analyzer's mech. The main landing gear is invert kneeling and can be steered. It can carry an assortment of mission containers or equipment compatible with its open bay.
The Type 90 Internal Fire Boat is a small boat class operated by the United Nations Cosmo Navy. Yamato carried at least two of these boats during the journey to Iscandar, named Tsukuba and Silatori. The Type 5 Standard Internal Fire Boat, also known as the Large Internal Fire Boat, is a Earth Federation Cosmo Navy type of carrier-based boat used for transporting crew members and supplies, lifesaving work, and other miscellaneous tasks, such as being used as a ferry to other ships. Each EFCN ship is equipped with several types of Internal Fire Boats, Type 5 Internal Fire boat is classified as a relatively large one. It can carry up to 50 passengers.
The SSR-91 Space Tactical Reconnaissance Aircraft is a RECCE space plane used by forces of the United Nations Cosmo Force. One SSR-91 was piloted by Akio Yamamoto codenamed Sword III. The Type-100 can carry out a wide range of activities with the various sensors stored in the two bulges in the rear of the upper surface of the fuselage and the large radar dome equipped on the underside of the fuselage. In addition, the lower part of the fuselage is equipped with a manipulator and a multi-purpose storage. It has foldable wings and a doubled wheeled nose gear, the main landing gear is angled halfway to the side.[3] The craft is also equipped with a AI navigation assistant.[4] Usually it is manned by a crew of two, but can accommodate three if needed.
