World of Kai
This world has a mix of futuristic and historical narratives and includes elements of Japanese culture, such as Noh and Shinto, rigid family hierarchies, corruption of government by zaibatsu, and samurai appear throughout the world.
Setting
Set in the 2010s, the world is formed around political narratives that concern a war between the US and the Middle Eastern country of Belgistan. An influential Japanese family, the Gowa, produce a bipedal weapon, the TA. When US military forces attempt to seize the capital they are systematically wiped out by what appear to be rival TAs. The Gowa Family seizes this opportunity to demonstrate their weapon system, and civilian pilot Yuushiro Gowa and the military squad to which he is attached are deployed to Belgistan. There, he meets rival TA pilot Miharu, with whom he seems to share a deep spiritual bond.
In ancient Japan the Gowa family created a demonic Armor in order to defeat their enemies. Hundreds of years later in the 2010s, this armor is exploited by the Gowa in the development of Tactical Armor for military usage and the usurpation of Japan.
Organizations
Japanese Special Self-Defense Force
The Special Self Defense Force (S.S.D.F.), more formally known as the Japanese Special Self Defense Force (J.S.S.D.F.), is a force established specifically for the purposes of overseas deployment. Units from the Ground Self Defense Force, Maritime Self Defense Force, and Air Self Defense Force can be incorporated into the S.S.D.F. depending on the demands of the situation.[1]
In Gasaraki, part of this force is the Tactical Armor team led by Tamotsu Hayakawa, and Yūshirō Gōwa is their top pilot.[2] The members of this experimentation platoon are assigned the duty of developing the combat ability of the Tactical Armor. While the Special Self Defense Force is a governmental body, it is common for the units to develop close relations with civilian firms that are developing equipment, as in the case of this company, whose make up was heavily influenced by the desires of the Gōwa. The fact that Yūshirō is a member of the unit reflects this, but as a general rule, none of the other members of the company have known ties to the Gōwa Family.

Gowa Family
The Gōwa Family is the family at the center of the Gōwa Corporate Group, which controls Gōwa Instruments, the developer of the TAs, and numerous other corporations. A family line that dates back to the Heian era, they are believed to have once been referred to as the Kugutsu. What that actually entails is something only they know, but there is no question that they intend to do something in this modern era by utilizing their knowledge of Kai.

Kai
Kai (嵬) is the name by which those who participate in the Dance of Gasara are referred to within the Gōwa Family. It appears that not all members of the Gōwa clan are Kai.[1] Monoyose is another name for a Kai,[2] as well as Invitator (インヴィテーター), the name by which the mysterious organisation Symbol refers to those with abilities like that of a Kai.[1]
Kugutsu is the original term for Kai and is used to describe clans of Kais ("Kugutsu clans"). Both terms refer to people who have specially harmonized body and minds which can summon the power, Gasaraki.[3] They are able keep memories of their past life.
The Path of the Kai
The Path of the Kai are passageways that only members of the clan knew about that in antiquity connected regions all over Japan. Most have been disrupted by modern development, but the path between Kinashi and Kyoto remains undisturbed.
Stage of Stone
Stage of Stone refers to the Gōwa's stage of stone. It is a natural stone stage that they hold experiments and summon the power, Gasaraki, on.

Trivia
This is a hard one to find anything about. There's a lot of toy pics, but no actual art worth a damn on sites we can still visit in the year 2021.
- This might be the only page with chars and mecha on it. I'll edit this if it changes and I remember this is here.
