The Sleipnir.

The Sleipnir is Asgard's primary transport ship. It is equipped with Jumpgate Technology, and serves primarily as a transport/dropship from the Space Station Asgard onto other places.

History

The Sleipnir was designed alongside the Asgard Station, meant to serve as the primary means of transport and the symbol of Asgard's forces. it was designed for resilience and transport capacities, with excellent fuel reserves and very performant armor designs, to be able to sustain direct fire from enemy forces. It's been the most deployed ship in Asgard's military record, and to this day is still used to recruit new pilots to the Asgard Station.

Design

The Sleipnir is meant to accommodate mecha of all sizes and shapes (mostly), with a modular berth system. Each Sleipnir is equipped with a different cargo configuration, some to transport Mobile Suits, some to transport other, larger machines. Several Sleipnirs are built to accommodate some of each type of machines, and another two are modular in nature, with interchangeable berths, which are usually planned for in advance.
The Sleipnirs are powered by an incredibly stable gravity generator, allowing them to operate, much like the Asgard station, with full gravity if the situation is required, though this is a tremendous drain on its resources. This generator also fuels the Jumpgate system, allowing for several jumps in rapid succession with minimal cooldown time. This system also powers the shields, allowing the Sleipnirs to move in close for pickup or dropping off non-flight capable machines without too much risk of getting destroyed.
Sleipnirs are armored with an experimental Super Alloy called G-Metal, which increases in resilience through gravity augmentation, allowing a Sleipnir to enter the atmosphere with less risk of burning up with re-entry, and whose resilience is augmented with the gravity generator's constant output. While it isn't invulnerable, it will require several powerful attacks to down a Sleipnir from an equivalent battleship.
It should be noted the Sleipnir is NOT made for extended combat, or even short range combat. It is the Asgard Station's dropship. It's a symbol that brings Asgard's forces to the battlefield, not one of their war machines. For them to be built with extensive transport capacity, war capabilities had to be reduced, so it's loadout on the inside has to more than make up for it. It has self-defense weapons, but the Sleipnir is not intended for military support or assault.
