The Gospels

The Gospels is the name of the Testament machines, which, albeit reminescent of their original incarnation, are in fact, newly empowered and very much enhanced. Enhanced well past their original technology, the Gospels are a frightening aspect of Unsichtbar's arsenal.

Design History

The original Testament mecha are no more or less than their pilot's original machine, rebuilt, with newer but still similar technology. The Ha'Shalat was just The O with newer parts, for example, and the Ha'Hitabel was Nephtis reborn. However, as expected, this proved unable to contend with pilots who had already dealt with them and the new technology of Asgard, which started a technological arms race between the factions.
At this point, the Testaments rebuilt their machines using Balmarian and Solarian technology, as well as any other hodgepodge of technology they had gathered. The performance increased, and when it was improbable to make two systems function together, their nature as Gnosis usually gave them the edge needed to make it work, especially for those technologies requiring neural or mental interface with the systems directly.
The primary advantage all the Gospels have, however, is that they are designed for Testament use, and several additional systems, armors and other advantages are made to be enhanced by the presence of a Gnosis pilot. This allows them a certain amount of extra resilience and maneuverability, as well as additional weapons, better reaction times and overall higher performance, even against already exceptional machines. A Gospel can take quite a bit more punishment than its base model, and it is quite hard to destroy in a single attack.

Current Gospels

Currently the Gospels are as powerful as they are going to be, and readying for the final conflict. The recent creation of the Diabola Relics might make them even more powerful, transforming them from bleeding edge war machines to actual Omnigears, but that remains to be seen.
