Space Station Asgard is a headquarters for a prevention and intervention force, not an interdimensional policing force. They attempt to operate within reasonable parameters, choosing to use necessary force to respond to a threat, but more importantly, to not cause escalating tensions within the worlds they visit. A known alliance with a political faction on a world, seeing the overwhelming might of some of Asgard's most invincible Super Robots could cause massive backlash and explosive retaliation from political rivals or enemies, afraid of Asgard's might being directed at them.
Because of this, Asgard attempts to classify worlds based on what they consider appropriate force and retaliation, and only field units of comparable technology to the worlds they attempt to help in. There is a risk involved in this, but any risk of escalation would work against Asgard's goals, potentially upsetting allies or whatever balance the world is in. After all, if people are impressed with bipedal tanks with nuclear launching additional capabilities, the state of nuclear deterrence in the world might become unnecessarily upset at a flying Gundam with enough firepower to take out entire conventional militaries in a matter of hours, even if ostensibly on their side. Even without the risk of them mistaking Asgard for invaders instead of helpers, the scramble to get their hands on that technology, or rather prevent their enemies from doing so, could result in mass destruction just to destroy the Asgard unit.
S Class
Any world deemed as S Class by Asgard is a world where the limiters are off. Either the technology level of the entire world is so advanced even a god-machine would appear to be the norm, or there are already incredibly powerful machines or beings already in action on this world. Super Robots as they are often known, may be the only type of mecha this world has seen, or they are on a world incompatible with most forms of technology. When a world is designated as S Class, Asgard considers themselves to have free reign to operate as needed. This does not mean tensions cannot ensue, but the situations are not likely to escalate due to Asgard's actions or interventions without gross negligence on their part.
Any mission in which Asgard deploys their own S Class units, however, should be considered one of extreme danger for anyone not using one of these machines, and excessive caution should be used by anyone in a mecha that cannot stand and deliver this kind of power.

A Class
Worlds of the A Class are worlds with exceptionally high levels of technology, or single mecha that can easily qualify as Weapons of Mass Destruction. Either interstellar travel technology, contact with alien technology and the ability to combat against it, or machines whose firepower and destructive potential belies their size and armament. Worlds classified as A Class are the most varied in scope, with some having exceptionally powerful mecha and others having galaxy spanning fleets, with less powerful individual mechs. However, they tend to be comparable, either in combat potential or overall technological level.

B Class
Worlds of the B Class are worlds in which the Solar System has been colonized and explored. Not all technology is created equal, however, as some of the mobile weapons involved in these worlds have exceptional power, and can be considered a threat in any world. Some of these worlds have also been in contact with Alien Life Forms, or have had First Contact. The general technology level of Earth, however, remains relatively lower than that of the aliens they may have encountered. Space travel is long and still driven by the need for fuel resources and interstellar travel is not yet a possibility. Earth has likely colonized the inner sphere of the Solar System, or at least has Moon and/or Space colonies.

C Class
Highly advanced military/mecha technology. Giant robots of considerably more tactical and strategic value than conventional military weapons, but without the benefits of advanced space travel or colonization. Space bases are likely, as are highly advanced super weapons, but the weapons are comparable to military technology of today, except advanced enough that it's clearly beyond contemporary levels of technology and scope. Of note, some of these worlds have had First Contact, but their technological and societal expansion after such an event has not actually led to a greater technological leap, or at least not one to allow for easy space travel and colonization.

D Class
Worlds Asgard classifies as being D Class are worlds with highly advanced technology. Energy weaponry, alternative power sources, and technology the 21st Century of most Worlds cannot comprehend. However, battle and travel have not evolved past the Stratosphere. Humanity has not reached for the Stars, there are no space colonies or ships, and exploration of space has, at the most, been limited to a space station or possibly Lunar travel and space walks. However, military technology is well beyond conventional technology, with mecha being exceptionally efficient and capable of technologies and weapons simply not available to our world, such as gravity fields, null-barriers or high powered energy weapons. These war machines may not be more powerful than conventional military efforts can handle, but individually, they are far more powerful than our current level of technology.

E Class
Contemporary (21st century Earth) technology with advanced combat machines and/or super weapons. Likely advanced human genome technology as well.

F Class
Perhaps ironically, an F Class world is more likely to be treated as S Class than a higher Class world. The level of technology on a world like this is actively vastly inferior than 21st Century Earth technology. Likely pre-transistor, pre-fusion power, with very little in astronomy and military and vehicle technology. At least, not widely available to the world at large or its general military. There might be other reasons for these turnouts, such as alternate power sources and technological development. The use of exotic fuel sources, or alternative types of scientific principles (read: Magic). Worlds with ancient technology mixing with medieval or other ancient societal customs often fall into this Class of world, as well. It is considered F Class if the world has seemingly very low available technology and, paradoxically, no way to retaliate against Asgard were they to abuse their power.

Trivia
Minutia that can upgrade a world's classification or technology level.
- These rankings are not based on the strongest available unit in said world. They are based on the baseline, average unit available and other considerations for technology level.
- Some units are harder to classify, or are in a world that would have no 'scale' with which to judge Asgard's actions, and some leeway is available.
- An addendum to Asgard's policies are, of course, the threat level inferred. If a high-powered enemy using essentially a mechanical god is to attack a low-Class world, Asgard will not hesitate to respond in kind and then deal with the damages afterwards. For example, Master Therion attacking the Universal Century World will see Asgard respond with units that can match blows with a Deus Machina, since responding with Gundams would probably just get them killed.
