GO!

Habatake Go is a mecha-themed roleplaying channel on IRC. It is, theoretically, the third incarnation of a channel previously called Super Robot Saga, whose fans were still left wanting more by the time the channel had run its course. Habatake Go focuses on the struggle of the Asgard Station fighting against a slew of powerful enemies, with pilot friendship, alliances, rivalries and bitter hatreds fueling the fights.
Setting
Years ago, the Ze Balmary Empire allied to Wilhelm of Vector industries through a strange twist of fate in the UMN, and they shared Wilhelm's vast resources and their already phenomenal Crossgate Technology to create portals to various different worlds, not just in one universe, but in several. With the Aerogaters advance squad near Earth associating with Wilhelm and his New Testaments, they had the ability to strike anywhere, at any time.
Ingram Prisken used his powerful Astranagant to contact various people to warn them what the Balmary Empire was up to, and a resistance was quickly set up, the powerful Space Station Asgard. From their, using their own Jumpgate Technology, the caretakers of the Asgard Station went to recruit several robot pilots in the hopes of stopping the Aerogater menace, and within the first year, they managed to do just that, but at considerable cost, including Prisken's life.
Now grown into a full fledged army, the Asgard Station is still recruiting pilots to help in the war against the Unsichtbar Forces, going from world to world and attempting to stop them from ruining other worlds as well as their own.
Themes
The channel's themes vary from political maneuvering and cunning intrigue to frantic high intensity super heroic robot action. With the various characters and antagonists from settings as varied as Gundam, The Brave Saga and of course, Super Robot Wars, an incredibly tense situation can quickly become manic and a high intensity battle can sometimes have father reaching effects than anyone suspected.
The main themes in the channel are interpersonal drama with robot action, with the idea of trying to maintain balance a strong motivating force for Asgard's Command, which examplifies this theme. The Asgard Command sector is filled with series antagonists and even outright villains, but the vast bulk of their forces are manned by heroic, self-sacrificing idealists and do-gooders.
The setting is generally positive, with the heroes more often than not turning the tides of battle, but some victories have been, and will be, pyrrhic at best, and some days the enemies, who are equally skilled and powerful pilots, will simply triumph. There is no guarantee of anything, much like in any war, but sometimes the extra allies can make all the difference.
Joining
Simply put, Zechs Merquise of the Space Station Asgard will go recruit new pilots to join the cause of Asgard, telling them about what the enemy is doing, and trying to get them to see why they should join. After that, the pilot will be taken aboard the Sleipnir, see first hand how Jumpgate Technology works, and then come to the Asgard Station, where he or she will meet the various people who populate the station and setting.
